Angelina Cooperative Early College High School grew from a countywide effort to connect high school students with college and career pathways. Since 2017, the school has worked directly with Angelina College to support its early-college model.

Historical Texas Education Agency records place Angelina Cooperative Early College High School under Lufkin ISD with county-district number 003-903 and school number 005. The 2015 designation and later state materials also identify the cooperative's participating districts.
2015 — Early College High School designation
Texas announced the Angelina County Cooperative CTE Early College High School as an approved early-college program created through a countywide collaboration.
2016 — Innovative Academies grant recognition
The Texas Governor's Office named the Angelina County Cooperative Early College High School among grant awardees and listed Central, Diboll, Hudson, Huntington, Lufkin, and Zavalla ISDs.
2016–17 — TEA directory record
The Texas School Directory listed “Angelina Cooperative Early College H S” as grades 9–12, school number 005 under Lufkin ISD.
2017 — Direct partnership with Angelina College
Beginning in 2017, Angelina Cooperative Early College High School became directly partnered with Angelina College. Lufkin ISD materials from the 2017–18 school year listed the school at Angelina College, reflecting the close academic connection between the high school and the college.
